Hi,
I don't know abou the rest of you 5 (excluding Anna) but I am a blogger newbie, this is very exciting and a bit scary, honestly. I am definitely out of my comfort zone - I feel quite shy about putting words in a space like this- feels like I am going out on a busy street in my bathing suit. But isn't that what God does, push, stretch and encourage us to try things we wouldn't normally do? Amazing, I never thought in my wildest dreams He would be doing so with me with a Blog space. Isn't He great?
Anyway- I will try to get past this blogger shyness to get to the point of why I am here- communicating with you all. Anna, thank you and Robert so much for starting this page. What does everyone think about the name- Mums 4 Mums? I think it fits and will be easy to remember- but please let us know if anyone differs- its good to get the name right!
I think a critical element to this program is remembering this is a place/program where we too should be filled up, not just help create, run. If its something that we will get alot from, then others will too. And this goes for the creation process too. Its so much more meaningful I find to invite Him in to even perhaps the rudimentary aspects of scheduling, phonecalls, research. I am amazed how He is there. And really seems to want to be there.
On that note of being filled up and seeing Him in the process, here are a few verses that have come pre last Friday's meeting and a few since then that may spur your own research into the Word on this subject/project- again pls share any that come to you!
Psalm 32:8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.
Psalm 127:1
Unless the Lord builds the House; Its builders labour in vain
1 Cori 15:58
Therefore my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.
Psalm 126:1-3
When the Lord brought back the captives to Zion, We were like men who dreamed, Our mouths were filled with laughter, Our tongues were songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations,"The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with Joy."
I believed this really applied to all of us- captives. We are/were all captives and in many ways this brings me back to our famous Isaiah 61.1 verse and learning about our own captivity struggles from Breaking Free (I have often felt captive sometimes in my momness). I know I feel filled with joy in knowing what a support and love I have in Him, and his validation of me is a very freeing feeling. It has really changed my momhoodness (Sorry not really a word). The best way I describe it from my personal experience- and you've heard me say this before is I feel filled up from Him.
And perhaps that was why I was looking initially for 'fill up, replenish' verses when I searched my Bible for the key verse for this program. So far this one fits in terms of our plannning I feel but perhaps not for the key verse to the program
Proverbs 21 The lips of the rightgeous nourish many.
Proverbs 31 definitely has some good ones in terms of motherhood- ala anna's 1st blog. This may be the way to go? Other ideas? Like the name- this will be great to get right. Please pray for this, and share on this, thanks.
I will blog later with more nuts and bolts info stuff. After talking to many of you, it sounds like you are full swing into making progress on your particular areas. Thanks for your enthusiasm. And thanks again for your work on this- its great how each of us is stronger as a unified whole.
Gosh, after reviewing the length of this letter- I guess one could say I have gotten over my shyness with this blog stuff, eh? He knew!
